Part of a Global Mission: The One Ocean Expedition 2025–2026

Following the success of the One Ocean Expedition 2021–2023, Norway’s iconic tall ship, Statsraad Lehmkuhl (built in 1914), is setting sail on a new, 12-month circumnavigation to explore the ocean’s critical role in our future. As a UN Decade of Ocean Science ambassador, this expedition will visit over twenty ports across Europe, the USA, and Central and South America. It will engage in cutting-edge research, knowledge-sharing, and political dialogue to drive action for a sustainable ocean. And in November, Statsraad Lehmkuhl will sail to San Francisco.

Sustainable Ocean Solutions (SOS) Summit 2025

The second SOS Summit in San Francisco will bring together influential leaders from various sectors to discuss the evolving landscape of sustainable technologies and solutions for the ocean. These solutions include renewable offshore energy, carbon capture and storage, and new sustainable materials derived from the ocean. The goal of SOS Summit is to utilize venture capital to support science-based entrepreneurial insights and policies that promote ocean conservation and sustainable ocean utilization. By fostering collaboration among thought leaders, the summit aims to facilitate partnerships enabling these innovative solutions to flourish.

A global community for ocean innovation

During One Ocean Week 2023 in Bergen, Farvatn, Katapult Ocean and cChange launched the Sustainable Ocean Solutions Community, a global network uniting science, industry, technology, policy, and investment to accelerate ocean sustainability. In 2025, we will bring this vision to San Francisco and set sail to shape the next wave of solutions.
